Arlene Wube Joins Career Panel for UrbanPromise

Washington, DC (August 30, 2022) – Arlo Solutions President and COO Arlene Wube recently participated in an alumni career panel for UrbanPromise’s StreetLeader Program. This year’s event was held at the UrbanPromise Campus in Camden, NJ.

The StreetLeader Program employs Camden-area teens as counselors, tutors, and mentors for the children who are part of UrbanPromise’s after school programs and summer camps. At just thirteen, Arlene was one of the youngest StreetLeaders to come through UrbanPromise.

“UrbanPromise’s StreetLeader Program is very personal to me because I sat in the same seat as these teens when I was thirteen,” said Arlene. “UrbanPromise gave me a safe haven and helped me develop the skills and confidence I needed to attend college in Washington, DC and ultimately, start my own business. I was honored to be able to help motivate and inspire today’s generation of StreetLeader youth.”

UrbanPromise’s mission is to equip Camden’s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. Participating children and teens are encouraged to focus on their studies and achieve academically. Of the nonprofit’s high school graduates, 89 percent transition to college or a vocational training program. Through a myriad of neighborhood-based programs, UrbanPromise educates and empowers a 700 Camden children and teens each year.
