Lonye Ford Named to RealLIST Engineers 2021

Washington, DC (October 13, 2021) – Lonye Ford, Arlo Solutions CEO, was named to Technical.ly’s RealLIST Engineers 2021.

Technical.ly’s RealLISTs call out the most promising startups, influential technologists, and connective community members in each of the company’s regional markets. The third annual RealLIST Engineers spotlights the software, data, and cyber pros that are taking on tough challenges on their own teams and leading the way for others in the DC technology community.

To curate this list of luminaries, Technical.ly asked the local tech community for nominations and consulted technologists. They also reviewed previous coverage from the past year to see who stood out among many. The team then made selections by considering how each person was a tech trailblazer, creating something new or solving old problems, in addition to their community involvement.

The award article states, “As cofounder and CEO, Ford has led the technology side of downtown DC cybersecurity firm Arlo Solutions since it started in 2014. In over 20 years in government contracting, Ford coauthored the Air Force Fast Track Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, and she assessed and developed the RMF for the US Department of Agriculture. Under her expertise, Arlo has grown 2,758% and added five government contracts in the past three years.”

Under Lonye Ford’s leadership, Arlo was listed #153 on the 2021 Inc. 5000 annual ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. Lonye was named an InterCon Top 50 Tech Visionary and has been featured on a variety of panels and events including The Humans of DevOps Podcast Series, Black Engineer of the Year STEM Conference, National Society of Black Engineers, and more. Lonye has served as a mentor for future technology leaders by participating in career panels through UrbanPromise and Marymount University.
