Arlo Solutions Pledges $30,000 to Support Youth Education

Washington, DC (January 15, 2022) – Arlo Solutions (Arlo) pledged to donate $30,000 to Camden, NJ-based nonprofit, UrbanPromise.

This charitable contribution will support the nonprofit’s alumni campaign goal of providing funds to send as many young people to college as possible.

While this is Arlo’s first corporate philanthropic initiative with UrbanPromise, Arlo President and COO Arlene Wube has been working with the nonprofit since her time as a youth ambassador.

“I’ve always felt that education is one of the most impactful gifts we can give to our youth to improve their lives and ultimately improve our world,” said Wube. “After sharing my positive experiences as a volunteer and mentor for UrbanPromise with our team, they were excited to get involved with the organization and raise money to expand educational opportunities for young people.”

Arlene holds volunteer leadership roles in two key UrbanPromise programs – Ambassadors of Hope Scholarship Fund and the Rooted to Grow fundraising campaign. She also organized a birthday party fundraiser for Arlo Chief Growth Officer Taz Wube, resulting in a $50,000 donation to the organization.

Arlo CEO Lonye Ford has spoken at UrbanPromise events, including the nonprofit’s Passing the Baton virtual career day. Lonye provided insights into her personal leadership journey and shared inspirational words to guide and motivate program participants.

UrbanPromise’s mission is to equip Camden’s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. Participating children and teens are encouraged to focus on their studies and achieve academically. Of the nonprofit’s high school graduates, 89% transition to college or a vocational training program. Through a myriad of neighborhood-based programs, UrbanPromise educates and empowers approximately 700 Camden children and teens each year.
